Abstract

The technical improvement in power electronics plays a vital role in the development of wind power system. This paper investigates the causes and effects of voltage stress in AC/DC/AC converter used in wind energy system. Although there are various reason for the generation of voltage stress, The pulse with modulation (PWM) switching is used to control the thyristor value or switches is considered as the major source of the voltage stress generator.
