Abstract

This paper presents a new scheme based on average transmission rate, using the achieved rate and fairness of each flow to provide fairly marking for Assured Forwarding services in DiffServ network. A record unit and a promotion/demotion probability generator are added to the conventional traffic conditioner. Hence the impacts of Round Trip Time, UDP/TCP interactions, and different target rates can be mitigated effectively by proposed scheme. A simulation and a performance evaluation of the proposed scheme are also presented.
