Most of the work reported in the literature employs deterministic method to model the channel. Since deterministic method is site specific and results into complex models and therefore is not practically viable to model a general wireless communication channel. This paper discusses the estimation of the parameters of the channel like path loss, doppler frequency shift and phase shift using deterministic and stochastic methods for sum of sinusoids model of the wireless multipath channel. The results are compared for both deterministic and stochastic models for different multipath channels and found that stochastic method of implementing sum of sinusoids model results in low bit error rate. Abstract
