Abstract
In this paper, a method for design and implementation of direct torque control (DTC) strategy of induction motor based on hardware-in-loop simulation (HIL) is proposed. The hardware in loop simulation offers the rapid prototyping by reducing time in development and cost. The DTC controller for induction motor is designed and simulation is carried out to test the performance in Simulink/MATLAB. A simple code generation tool interfaced to the MATLAB/SIMULINK by way of real time workshop (RTW) is used to convert the control model for a suitable hardware target. The space vector PWM based DTC control is realized by converting the control blocks in to C-code and implemented in dSPACE environment. The DTC controlled induction motor performance is tested using control desk. The results of offline simulation & real time simulation with laboratory prototype are presented.
