Abstract

The article characterizes the target, content, activity and resultant components of the professional and pedagogi- cal training of university teachers; an analysis of the main tasks for the formation and development of teachers’ pedagogical consciousness and pedagogical convictions, the pedagogical qualities of the individual, their mastery of the skills and abilities of pedagogical activity in all its types is presented; personal and activity components are singled out, which determine the level of professional and pedagogical readiness of teachers to solve educational problems at the university; the features of professional and pedagogical training of the teaching staff of universities are characterized.
