Abstract
For high-speed permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs), since the permanent magnets (PM) cannot withstand the huge centrifugal force during high-speed rotation, alloy or carbon fiber (CF) sleeve is usually used to protect the PM. However, due to the different physical properties of CF and alloy, the sleeve will greatly affect the multi-physics performance of high-speed motors. Therefore, in order to obtain more reasonable sleeve parameters, this paper focuses on the comparative of different sleeve schemes based on multi-physics, including rotor eddy current loss, rotor stress, temperature.
