Knowledge of fish physiology, the influence of management and environmental conditions is important to ensure success in cultivation. This study aimed to determine values of hematological parameters in tilapia cultured in cages in the region of Paulo Afonso, Bahia, Brazil, evaluating the effect of seasonality. There was a significant difference (p <0.05) in the number of red blood cells, packed cell volume, hemoglobin concentration, mean corpuscular volume, mean corpuscular hemoglobin of concentration, the total number of leukocytes, and the relative number of lym - phocytes and neutrophils. The studied haematological parameters showed influence of seasonality.
