Abstract
A new cross dipole antenna with arms folded down is used as a radiating element for a wide-scan angle phased-array in X-band in this paper. However, the effect of mutual coupling will make it difficult to generate circularly polarized radiation from an phased-array composed of polarized elements. Compared to conventional formed array, Sequential rotation technique is easy to generate the circular polarization. To illustrate capabilities of this approach, the numerical results calculated by the method-of-moment (MoM) are compare to the results simulated by HFSS, demonstrating the agreement in the comparison.
