The English teacher in MAN 1 Banyumas uses WhatsApp as the media. Thus, it become phenomenon following the situation which was able to lead the curiosity of the researchers to conduct the study based on what is occurring in the current time. The study uses a qualitative method to find out the effectiveness of WhatsApp media group discussion to improve grammar competence in MAN 1 Banyumas, to discover the grammar competence of the students, and the advantage of WhatsApp group discussion to improve grammar competence according to the teacher.
