Abstract
Agriculture is extremely important when it comes to the economy of India. Agriculture provides a livelihood for more than 50% of the population of India. Due to the increase in population, the demand for food has also increased and in order to meet this demand, there is a strong need to grow the crops in the particular area where they are best suited considering various factors that affect the crop growth. Aim of the study is to provide scientific support to farmers to grow a suitable crop by analysing the soil/land characteristics using Geospatial techniques. To analyse the appropriate crops in the study area various factors were considered, these are soil texture, soil drainage, soil depth, soil moisture, the slope of the land, and other nutrient checks for pH, organic carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. By studying the importance of each factor on crop growth, suitability is calculated. The web-based model is created to work on dynamic data and provide results accordingly. With the help of this result, we can do better and planned farming as we get to know the suitable crop and with all the right conditions and this in turn will help to get an increase in production per hectare.
