The research method used is critical discourse analysis. The data sources of this research are cultural activists and their activities as well as the communities in the research sites. The results of this study are (i) currently Sintren is no longer in demand by society and its role is replaced by pop culture; (ii) Sintren is an art that contains history and values that reflect the life of maritime communities in the North Coast of Java; (iii) the values contained in Sintren's art are religious, social, caring, entertainment, and economic values.
