Hybrid Miniature Oven Quartz Crystal Oscillator

Abstract

A n e w gene ra t ion of small, f a s t warm-up p r e c i s i o n oven ized c rys t a l o sc i l l a to r has been deve loped and is a v a i l a b l e f o r m i l i t a r and commercial use. The o v e r a l l s i z e is only 4.2 inJ and weighs 3.8 oz. (F igu re 1). T h e u n i t w i l l warm-up from -54OC t o w i t h i n lPP107 i n less than 5 d n u t e s . The s h o r t term s t a b i l i t y is neasured at b e t t e r t h a n 3PP1Ol2 p e r 10 seconds and long term s t a b i l i t y is less than 2.5PP101°/day over 40 days.
