The study was based on descriptive-documentary and field research. Two surveys were applied to 1,831 students of the third year of the General Baccalaureate of 7 cantons to quantify the demand for the programme. To assess the employability of the programme, a survey was applied to 30 members of the administrative teaching staff of Imbabura and north of Pichincha. It was found that 51.6% of participants have an interest in studying the career; 54.9% would study at the University of Otavalo; 93.3% of employers required a graduate professional and 76.6% would require professionals with a third-level degree.
