The Effect of Freedom on the Net, Human Right and Economic Freedom on Socioeconomic Progress; A Case Study Empirical Analysis in Eastern Africa

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of freedom on the net, human rights, and economic freedom on the socio-economic progress of East Africa. The research contributes to understanding the influence of the predictor variables on the social progress specific to the study area. The study looks at the effect of an obstacle to internet access, access to information and communication, personal freedom and choice, and economic freedom on the level of social progress index. These predictor variables have a significant and positive influence on the socio-economic level of the study area. The study employed multiple regression analysis to realize the relationship amongst the variables. The study uncovered evaluating the value of the monetary contribution of each independent variable to the social progress and quality of life of the region; this calls for future researchers to undertake an in-depth, comprehensive study using advanced statistical methodologies.
