The object of this research is the integrated model used in the Honyaku course. Furthermore, this study also discusses linguistic knowledge that can be involved in this learning model, including syntax, semantics, pragmatics and other competencies such as knowledge of Japanese society and culture. Abstract

Honyaku (translation) is a compulsory subject in Japanese Literature Department of Andalas University that aims to make students are able and skillful in translating Japanese text into Indonesian and vice versa. The classroom action research method was used in conducting this research.
