The study is intended to determine the pattern of the abuse of sympathy to counter hegemony on Indonesian positive law which is realized in ideology. The study employs Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA). The finding shows that to gain public sympathy they employ Legitimation type 1, Legitimation type 2, Trope, Fragmentation, Euphemization, Unification, and Dissimulation.
