Abstract

Every individual has a unique gait that can not only be used for identification but also when observed carefully, may reveal personal attributes like age, gender, weight etc. of a person. This information can then be used for a number of purposes like in biometric-access control, for marketing applications, for making systems more intelligent in its user's recognition and for fitness applications. Although a lot of research has been done on these attributes separately, but this paper proposes a novel approach to identify all of the above-mentioned personal attributes of a person in a single framework based on his gait patterns using smart phone sensors. Series of experiments have been performed to demonstrate its effectiveness.
