Evaluation on Scientific Research Capability of Private HEIs based on CNKI Database

Abstract

According to the published papers in CNKI database, the number of published papers, total cited frequency, cited frequency, H index and R index are used to comprehensively measure the scientific research capacity of 25 private colleges and universities which ranking first in respective province and city in 2016. There are some shortcomings at evaluating scientific research ability only by using common indexes such as number of published papers, total frequency of cited papers and frequency of cited papers. Therefore, H index and R index can make up for above shortcomings effectively. Above all, it is effective that taking quantity and quality of papers into consideration comprehensively.
