Technical opportunities for the development of world band broadcast reception

Abstract

Changes in the design of world band receivers that can enhance the effectiveness of shortwave broadcasting as a consumer medium are outlined. Most of these make use of technology currently being applied either in world band or other areas of electronic design. A smaller number are expected to make use of technology that is currently being researched. Certain of the changes to receivers and antennas are independent of changes in current broadcast technology. Others involve feasible additions to the data broadcast by radio stations.<>
