Acoustic Systems for Information Transfer in Audible Range

Abstract

The paper presents existing digital information transfer systems using acoustic waves of an audible frequency range as a carrier. Such systems form alternatives to systems using electromagnetic (EM) waves, since in practice there are situations when the use of EM waves is impossible or undesirable. Examples of conditions for justified use of information transfer acoustic systems through the air channel are shown, various types and features of the used types of acoustic waves modulation in the audible range are analyzed.
