Abstract

With the rapid penetration of electrification, communication, and computer technologies into the transportation sector, conventional transportation system is undergoing important revolution, and the corresponding standard system is also facing huge challenges. In this paper, a method to evaluate the adaptability of current IEC standards facing the future sustainable transportation is proposed. Use cases related to future sustainable transportation were collected first, then all the collected use cases are evaluated and ranked. Important use cases are analyzed and recommendations to the current standardization system can be obtained. Two important use cases: coordinated charging and battery-powered tram are given as examples to show the results of the proposed method.
