Abstract

This paper suggests an information model of the fault variable rate. Based on the new model, the reliability of the ship's power system can be estimated, and the maintenance cycle can be predicted. The calculating method and application of results are discussed in detail. From the model analysis and the case study, the conclusion is: it is a practical new way to estimate the reliability and to calculate the maintenance cycle by the fault variable rate model.
