Use of this system has enabled logically continuous existing/nonexisting detection in units of the block configured with the detecting point as a boundary. Furthermore, whereas the conventional track circuit is restricted to track existing(0)/nonexisting (1) detection alone, the new system ensures highly reliable detection because it uses a train ID for train detection. Accordingly, the function of this system allows a train control system of a high degree of safety to be designed with a simple system configuration. A field monitor running test is currently under way to check the COMBAT performance to evaluate train detection performance using microwave balises and to verify the train detection logic.
