Abstract
The purpose of the article is to identify and compare the problematic aspects
of macroeconomic and institutional development of the Balkan countries and
Ukraine on the path to European integration, taking into account military conflicts.
The research methodology is based on the use of a systematic approach,
comparison, analysis and synthesis of empirical statistical and regulatory information
on the experience of the Balkan countries on the path to membership in the
European Union.
The scientific novelty is determined by the systematization of the results
obtained on the course of regulatory procedures for gaining candidate status for
membership in the European Union, monitoring the negotiation process, the
dynamics of key macroeconomic indicators in permanent global crises and overcoming
the consequences of military conflicts in the Balkans. implementation of the
European integration course.
Conclusions. The prospects for gaining candidate status require careful study
of the experience of the Balkan countries, given the similarity of transformation
processes in the context of the permanent development of interstate and interethnic
conflicts, including military ones. Given the experience of candidate countries for
accession to the EU, today the Ukrainian authorities must create a separate
interdepartmental (coordinating) body of state power, which must clearly adhere
to the priorities of reforms and the effectiveness of the future negotiation process.
