Development Trends and Analysis of Structural Shifts of RA Agricultural Sector

Abstract

The dominance of the agriculture sector is due to its role in the country's food security, the rural population's income generation, and living standards. In recent years, the efficiency of the agricultural sector has noticeably decreased. The evidence of this is the low labor productivity per employed person and the low level of provision of modern equipment. The study of development trends and structural shifts in the agricultural sector of the RA in 2010-2021 is especially crucial in this economically and politically particular period. The research aims to study the trend of indicators of RA agrarian sector, especially in the last decade, to reveal the factors determining the structural changes of the sector and the reasons for low economic efficiency. The analysis of the state of the agricultural sector and the given qualitative assessments characterizing the current state presented the relationship of comparable indicators. The analysis allows identifying the main problems in the agricultural sector.
