Abstract
This paper compares the various current control techniquessuch as sine, hysteresis, SVPWM and predictive Pulse Width Modulation technique. Due to nonlinear characteristics of the load the harmonics introduced into the system. To avoid such issues, the Shunt Active Power Filter (SAPF) is designed. For generating switching pulses of SAPF, the different current control techniques have been implemented. The simulation is carried over by using MATLAB/Simulink tool. The performance of various current control techniques are compared in SAPF and prove thatpredictive current control technique is more robust and gives less harmonics into the system.
