Abstract

A mathematical model of thermal, electromagnetic and gas-dynamic processes occurring in a discharge chamber of a multi-chamber arrester is described. Basic assumptions and main equations of the model are presented, a computational domain is shown and boundary conditions are described. Results of calculation namely plasma temperature distributions in the discharge chamber at different times of discharge existence are shown. The article contains an analysis of results, description of used model limitations and steps for a further development of the model.
