Abstract
Computation of electromagnetic wave propagation in multiconductor systems using the superposition principle and exponential Fourier transform is presented. This is a new approach which takes into account all frequency-dependent effects of the transmission system. The impulse response is calculated in the phase domain using the exponential Fourier transform. Selection of integration parameters for inverse numerical transform is considered. A transient in an underground cable system is computed using the proposed method, and the results obtained are compared with field test results.<>
