Abstract

Corrosion of macro to micro-structures has been one of the major causes of structural failure in modern era. Their early detection could assist in limiting their repairs and reducing the associated cost as well. This chapter focusses on the state-of-the-art and development made with green corrosion inhibitors for preventing corrosion. It mainly includes the most recent progress in electrochemical corrosion monitoring techniques for various green inhibitors namely polarization technique, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, electrochemical noise measurement and electrochemical quartz crystal microbalance techniques.
