Home Automation using Smart Devices and IoT

Abstract

A majority of home automation systems developed till date have been focused on only one functionality., typically remote appliance control. The technologies used are largely Bluetooth based., and while a lot has been improved over the years., there is still scope for introducing novel technologies and setups [1]–[3]. This paper aims to develop a more well-rounded home automation system., consisting of a smart surveillance system., a smart energy meter and an IoT based appliance control setup. This model is not only novel in terms of the functionalities involved., but also uses many advanced technologies to accomplish the goal. The model developed has been tested and verified successfully.
