Engineering Teacher Training using MIAP Based Coaching and Mentoring Techniques in Promoting Teacher Competencies

Abstract

The purposes of this research were 1) to manage engineering teacher training using the MIAP learning process and coaching and mentoring techniques, 2) to assess the competencies of electrical engineering teachers by using the developed teaching and learning management, 3) to evaluate the effectiveness of teaching and learning management, and 4) to evaluate learners' satisfaction using the developed teaching and learning management. The purposive sample group of this research was 27 bachelor teacher students, Department of Teacher Training in Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Technical Education at King Mongkut's University of Technology North Bangkok. The research results shown that 1) results of the evaluation in teacher students' skill was higher than 75%, 2) the performance of the developed teaching model shown that learning process (E1) and learning achievement (E2) were higher than 75%, and 3) the learners' satisfaction with the developed learning and teaching process was at a high level (the mean equaled to 4.38).
