Abstract

Information architecture is a new discipline drawing from a variety of sources that seeks to maximise information accessibility and use in an electronic environment. Information architecture balances the competing demands from technology, aesthetics, content, context providers and users. Use of the principles and practices of information architecture in developing asynchronous learning environments would lead to a greater level of satisfaction for students and other users of online learning technologies.
