Abstract
In-wheel motor driven electric vehicle (EV) is one of the main aspects in EV development where the electronic differential should be solved first of all. How to obtain ±720° steering wheel angle is fatal to realize the electronic differential and then coordinating control of in-wheel motor driven EV. The integrated Giant Magneto Resistance (iGMR) based steering wheel angular sensor is developed in this paper and its mechanical design, hardware and software design and error analysis are concerned. The prototyped angular sensor verified the design and can be applied feasibly in in-wheel motor driven EV.
