Motor Ability and Play Activity of Suku Anak Dalam (Kubu) in Jambi

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to uncover and compare the motor ability and play activities of Suku Anak Dalam (Kubu) in Jambi. This type of research uses quantitative and qualitative methods(mixed methods) that involved 29 children of Suku Anak Dalam (Kubu). The instrument used to measure motor ability was Scoot Motor Ability Test. The instrument used to measure playing activities was questionnaire. The results showed : (1) the motor ability of Suku Anak Dalam (Kubu) enters the medium category, (2) there is a significant difference in motor ability between boys and girls of Suku Anak Dalam (Kubu), (3) play activities of Suku Anak Dalam (Kubu) is in the medium category, (4) there are significant differences in playing activities between boys and girls of Suku Anak Dalam (Kubu). It can be concluded that the motor ability of boys is better than girls. As for the activity of playing girls is better than boys. Keywords—Motor ability and play activities
