Abstract

The study aimed to ascertain students’ personal, home-related, and school-related profiles andstressors at Cagayan State University. The research design used was descriptive- correlational to describe and interpret the profile variables, the relationship between the profile variables and the extent of stressors, and the difference in the stressors when grouped according to profile variables. The study involved 2,295 third-year Bachelor of Secondary Education students, 19 years old, single, female, and Roman Catholics. Most of their mothers are 46-year-old high school graduates, and housekeepers, while their fathers are 48 years old high school graduates, and the majority are farmers. The family consists of four siblings with, two married and three unmarried siblings. The study found that the respondents’ stressors were interrelated to their profile variables, such as their father’s educational attainment, mother’s occupation, campus where they are enrolled, year level, and field of specialization. The study highlights the importance of addressing financial stress among students and supporting those struggling financially. It also emphasizes the need for further research on the relationship between financial stress and academic performance and the effectiveness of interventions aimed at reducing financial stress among students.
