Abstract

Aim: To identify the inter-rater reliability of a Sensory Insole technology for gait analysis (SIT). Method: The study utilized the quasi-experimental research design with sixty respondents obtained through purposive convenient sampling. The researcher utilized Slovin's formula to determine sample size. Intra Class Coefficient (ICC) was used to determine the reliability of the tool and Cronbach’s Alpha was used to determine internal consistency Result: The SIT had excellent reliability when assessing foot flat (ICC=0.94), push-off (ICC=0.94), swing phase (ICC=0.917); and good reliability when measuring loading phase (ICC=0.84). For internal consistency, the SIT showed high reliability when assessing for loading phase (Cronbach’s alpha=0.84), foot flat (Cronbach’s alpha=0.945), push off (Cronbach’s alpha=0.94), and swing phase (Cronbach’s alpha=0.92). Conclusion and Recommendations: The study indicates that SIT was a reliable tool in gait analysis and can be an alternative tool in such measurements. This can help clinicians provide objective findings in the gait assessment.
