Abstract

Internet of Things(IoT) constitutes a vast horizon of computing technology and constructs a smart system connecting machine to machine, machine to the web, availing remote sensing, rendering remote device activation, and control, an intelligent framework that can interact, i.e., exchange data among each other, perform operational functions in a domain or website. Real-time surveillance of water quality through production and supply, details of every task or system function that is occurring inside a water-treatment plant, and detailed information about essential parameters are required to maintain the regular operations in the distribution network. IoT is the most suitable technology to serve such conditions. Implementation of IoT merged with SCADA in Water Treatment Plants, forming a single master interface to access detailed information about water quality, plant processes, and water supply in real-time from any remote location, therefore stored and analyzed within a single master framework. This paper qualifies how IoT enhances and modernizes plant procedures, production, and distribution of potable water.
