Variable phase angle control method used to control both power electronic converters (PEC) improves the utilization making the UPQC efficient and economical. Rao-2 algorithm is used to optimize the utilization of UPQC in this research paper. The superiority of the Rao-2 algorithm over the JAYA algorithm is demonstrated through a comparison of the output results. Abstract
