Abstract
This study aimed to determine the preference of employers regarding the importance of Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes (KSA) as well as the employability predictors of optometrists. This quantitative research was conducted among 18 respondents from optical chains and clinics around Metro Manila which were selected through purposive sampling. The data were gathered using online survey forms. Findings showed that majority of the respondents did not consider the academic institution and work experience while the type of program or curriculum, academic achievements, and board performance of optometrists were considered. For KSA of optometrists, theoretical knowledge, clinical skills, and professionalism obtained the highest weighted mean. The results showed that there was no significant relationship between the profile of respondents and their preference in hiring optometrists and the KSA of optometrists. In conclusion, assessment programs for improvement of Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes (KSA) may be formulated to increase the employability of optometrists
