Abstract
This paper aims to analyze and compare the performance of a symmetric dipole antenna made in microstrip technology, on different dielectric substrates to observe the performance of the dielectric substrate in the case of the performance of an antenna that aims to be implemented in a radio link system for UAV/ aircraft. In order to be able to state which frequency band has the designed symmetrical dipole, as well as the effect of the dielectric substrate on its performances, the following parameters of interest will be analyzed: VSWR - Voltage Standing Wave Ratio; impedance value; antenna gain and aperture angle corresponding to the directivity characteristic. This work aims to highlight the influence of the dielectric substrate on the performance of the symmetric dipole antenna made in microstrip technology. And the antenna type analysis aims to design the radiating element of a two-dimensional antenna network that can be implemented in the aeronautical field. The microstrip technology implies by its geometry a structure with low weight and small dimensions that can be embedded on the UAV/aircraft. So dimensions and weight are two very important criteria in the aeronautical field, the lighter the aircraft, the more maneuverable and operational it is.
