Redirect, pipe, and stdio in MS-DOS

Abstract

This paper describes the results of efforts to develop MS-DOS application programs which provide acceptable I/O redirection. The characteristics considered “acceptable” are defined, and compared with results obtained from some compilers. Problems related to writing character I/O routines and their solutions are described.
