Approval Plan Profiling in the Small Academic Library

Abstract

Approval plans have generally been limited to the medium to large size university or research library. Should librarians in small college libraries wish to consider the feasibility of an approval Ian, there are circumstances unique to that type of institution which may require a different approach to subject profiling than would be the case in the larger libraries. The discussion centers around a case study of the Mansfield University Libraries' experience with subject profiling an approval plan in selected disciplines.
