Abstract
The paper is an attempt to reveal the semantic and functional peculiarities of German free dative juxtaposing them with the facts in Armenian. As a result of the research it is defined that though free datives do not have its direct equivalents in Armenian, the latter can transmit through its own linguistic means their semantic and functional peculiarities as correctly as possible.
