Abstract
In this paper, land use/cover change (LUCC) from 2000 to 2010 in the region of Nanjing is studied, based on Landsat TM remotely sensed images in 2000, 2005, and 2010. The results showed that: from 2000 to 2005 and from 2005 to 2010, the area of construction land increased by 404.15 km2 and 635.36 km2, respectively. The farm land decreased by 105.49km2 and 210.7 km2, respectively during the two periods. The forest land decreased by 307.87 km2 and 71.79 km2. Water area increased by 10.54 km2 from 2000 to 2005, and then decreased by 355 km2 from 2005 to 2010.
