Abstract

According to the requirement of Multimedia Network and the users' sensitivity for packet drop and delay, the paper puts forward a new protocol IRUDP(Improved Reliable UDP) based on traditional UDP. The paper suggests detecting network congestion according to virtual receiving rate and actual receiving rate and packet drop rate and then responding to it. Simulation results show that IRUDP do not chang the efficiency of traditional UDP, It improves the reliability and reduce the network packet drop rate and delay, increases the network data transmission efficiency.
提高多媒体网络服务质量的研究
