Abstract
This paper deals with the design and analysis of an ultra wideband FSS based absorber ranging from 11.7-23.8 GHz which have been verified through floquet port and wave port simulations. Return Loss of more than 10 dB is observed in the absorption band yielding more than 90% absorption over a wide bandwidth of 12 GHz. The unit cell of frequency selective surface possesses rotational symmetry suggesting high angular stability and polarization insensitivity. Two-layered impedance surfaces are designed from resistive FSS layers backed with aperture surfaces which are used as band-pass filters.
