Abstract
The mathematical description of switched reluctance machines differs from that of other types of electric machines. The article presents well-known variants of SRM mathematical models: using lookup tables or phase inductance values at fixed rotor positions. A variant of the mathematical model is proposed, based on the description of the phase inductance by the Fourier series. When using the proposed approach, the choice of the number of harmonics depends on the required calculation accuracy. This version of the mathematical model allows reducing the amount of initial information for modeling and maintain sufficient accuracy of the calculation results. The proposed solution will be useful in optimizing the design of the SRM, as well as in constructing control systems with state observers.
