Preparation of Some 35S-labelled Organic Compounds by Isotopic Exchange

Abstract

Isotopic exchange has been applied for the preparation of 35S-labelled methionine, cysteine, dithiooxamide, 2-aminothiazole and sulphanilic acid. On the basis of some preliminary investigations, the suitable conditions for performing the radioactive exchange experiments were identified. Good chemical yields and reasonable radiochemical yields were obtained. The results clearly show that the method is very satisfactory and less laborious as compared to the preparative chemical methods.
