Inspection and Enlightenment of International Engineering Education Professional Accreditation

Abstract

The engineering education professional accreditation is one of the main components of higher education quality assurance system, which is determined by the principle of international substantive equivalence, and one of the important symbols of education internationalization. In this paper, the origin and development of engineering education professional accreditation are elaborated, the standards of engineering education professional certification are given, and the experience of the world's advanced engineering education powers and regions represented by the United States, Britain, Germany, Japan, Taiwan in engineering education certification is introduced. On this basis, several suggestions on how to carry out the engineering education professional accreditation in China are put forward.
