Abstract
The paper presents methods and techniques for monitoring the status and diagnosis of wear for each element in the architecture and operation of photovoltaic solar power plant. A typical configuration of photovoltaic solar power plant is: photovoltaic panel, junction box, connection cables, controller, battery and inverter. The first part of this study describes the methods and techniques often used in monitoring and diagnosing the state of a system. In the second part of the study is presented a new method and technique used in monitoring and diagnosing the state of a system, SMART FMECA. This new method will help to approach a better hierarchy of each failure mode, for each component.
